Welcome to San Mateo Parents' Nursery School
For over 60 years, parents and children have been sharing the joy of learning together at San Mateo Parent's Nursery School (SMPNS). Our goal is to make each school day a successful learning experience for every child by providing many enriching experiences in a balanced program that embraces intellectual, social-emotional and physical development in the preschool-age child. We offer a high-quality, play-based program that is developmentally appropriate for preschool-age children. Our program is led by highly-qualified, certified teachers.
SMPNS provides a child-centered, play-oriented preschool program for children from two to five years old. We believe that young children learn best when they actively explore their environment through play and that young children are intrisically motivated to do so when the environment supports this type of learning. We believe that young children's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development are inter-related.
**General enrollment is open and ongoing throughout the year. Children at least two years old may join the school at any point during the year, space permitting. We recommend that interested families complete an application form and submit it with the $25 application fee to be on our waitlist.
