Early Childhood Environment

SMPNS staff is committed to providing a safe and open environment where children are free to grow, as individuals. We have an open door policy and we follow a true play based curriculum. We provide support for social interactions. We help facilitate discussions and problem solving. We practice conflict resolution, which creates trust and confidence. Our environment is one that empowers children. We use comfort for tears and popsicles for a hurt lip. We are an emotionally, safe environment. Children are expected to behave like children. The limits that we set give them a sense of security. We are trustworthy. We are a socially safe environment. We talk about everything. We learn through our experiences. By exploring all domains of child development and using child lead activities as well as adult lead activities, we establish strong foundations for future success.
